Sequent to collaborations with architects such as John Pawson and Joseph Dirand, Geert and Thomas Ostyn of Obumex contacted Glenn Sestig to design a new Signature Kitchen. The basic concept of this kitchen lies within the social aspect. It functions as a bar, a place to come together as well as a space divider.
This piece, which is currently on show in the Obumex/KKDC showroom in Paris, will move to Belgium during the Antwerp Art Weekend on May 20th and 21st.
It will be presented in their Antwerp showroom and will stand in dialogue with an original Le Corbusier kitchen and selected works by artist Tim Onderbeke.

Wallpaper* Magazine covered yet another story of the projects of Glenn Sestig architects. They described the Signature Kitchen as a raw structure in titanium travertine which stealthily hides the classical functions thus creating a minimalistic piece.
The cliché of a horizontal kitchen is surpassed by the vertical floor-to-ceiling volume concealing the bar and cupboard, with a contemporary sculpture as its result.

This second collaboration between fashion designer Raf Simons and Glenn Sestig embodies a new architectural brand identity for Mr. Simons his own brand. The look of the raw concrete, based on weatherworn bunkers, stands in contrast with the ombré glass of Germans Ermičs.
The composition of the concrete slabs has become an architectural embodiment of a mutual brutalist mindset, shared by the two designers.

The first venue where the new brand identity of Raf Simons can be experienced is in the new Dover Street Market London, co-founded by Rei Kawakubo -founder of Comme Des Garçons- together with Adrian Joffe. The new multilevel fashion retail and concept store, three times as big as the previous one, is located at 18-22 Haymarket and will be open for public starting this Saturday, 19th of March.
This first unit within the identity has been fulfilled with the technical support and execution of Descamps Interiors, one of Belgians finest interior contractors.

Van Den Weghe is the most exquisite player in the field of natural stone in Belgium. This dynamic enterprise, led by Tanguy Van Quickenborne, is presenting a new showroom in Knokke, combining its passions of art, architecture, design and natural stone. The company has gained international exposure thanks to collaborations with famous architects, designers and artists.
Glenn Sestig was responsible for the installation and scenography within this existing space.

The monumental architecture with its strong rhythms, Roman arches and columns is reminiscent of the interwar architecture. The interior is based on a couple of strong axes which create interesting perspectives. The materials are sumptuous and the details are astonishing.
This exclusive project for Luc Tuymans and Carla Arocha will become a definition of what Glenn Sestig architects stands for.

The most impressive brutalist penthouse of Belgium is being restored to its former rugged glory. The owner has a shared passion with Glenn Sestig for the original design by Léon Stynen and Paul De Meyer. The magnificent view over Antwerp and beyond will be enhanced by the pure lines and the abundance of light. The interior of this modernist treasure stands in close dialogue with the redesigned rooftop garden by Wirtz International.
